I replaced our carpeted stair with wood treads stained to match our flooring. We kept the last few steps without a handrail for a few months for a modern open feel. Finally with the birth of our son, we decided it was time to put in a handrail. I also installed a matching one at the top, but don’t have any pictures of that.
